About Cllr Jane Taylor

I am Jane Taylor, a retired police officer. I served 30 years with Devon and Cornwall Constabulary, retiring at the rank of Chief Inspector.

Having lived in the village for 25 years and having more spare time, I decided that now is the right time to become a Councillor.
I am particularly keen on planning matters and it is opportune that we are about to be involved in a significant consultation period.
I will be Chairing a Local Plan Consultation Steering Group. Further details will be published shortly.
You can be reassured that my decision making will be transparent and fair and I will do my utmost to bring some added value to the Council.
I am also a volunteer, supporting a local homeless charity and Foodbank.
My passion however, is supporting those affected by Domestic Abuse, having worked worked in this area for many years.
If I can be of assistance to you then please feel free to contact me by email jane.taylor@teignbridge.gov.uk or via the PC Clerk.

About Cllr Janet Carter

“Hi I’m Janet,

I’ve spent a lifetime in public service as an (S)RN (now retired) over 40 yrs of working with people in a variety of specialities and settings, from A&E in central London, Health Visiting in the slums of central London, Infectious Diseases – in London and Colorado, Nursing Education – in London, Colorado and Torbay. I was involved with the set up of Roxborough State Park in Colorado and an number of its educational and accessibility programmes in the ’80’s, in Virginia in the ’90’s was an historical Interpreter of Colonial history and festival organiser at National Park level, returning to the UK to care for my late parents and working at Torbay Hospital in Interventional Radiology (now based at Exeter).

In Colorado I was involved with an equivalent to PC and helped set up the 1st kerb-side recycling in the SW USA.

I’m also a small business owner.

I’ve lived in Kingskerswell for 21 years and been on the PC since 2015 with a recent break, while supporting a (non local) family member through their covid journey.  I’ve been involved with various groups in the village over the years – including the History group ( contributing to the book about the village) the Pantomime group, World Unlimited music events and more recently with Kerswella Care’s Memory Cafe.

My interests include: Inclusion, Accessibility, Well-ness, Sustainability, Recycling and Re- Purposing, Community and enjoyment of the great outdoors when possible!

One of the many things Covid has highlighted is the number of people in our community who are not able to access all things on-line and who are therefore increasingly becoming sidelined and out of the loop as society’s momentum drives towards increasing need for being connected on-line. ”

Cllr Tania Elston

About Cllr Tania Elston

I have lived in the village for 17 years. I was in the Education Sector for 20+ years.
Living in our village and enjoying everything it has to offer to helping with Kingskerswell Action Group has been a real pleasure. So, I really wanted to become more actively involved with village matters so becoming a Parish Councillor was a brilliant and rewarding way of doing this and moving forward life in our village can be improved and ideas realised…. I’m very much looking forward to contributing to our community, which will be fantastic for future generations living here.
